How it works
Answer a short set of questions across three dimensions. It takes about 8 minutes.
By the end, you'll know:
✓ Whether your biggest constraint is the business or the person leading it
✓ Whether your leadership approach fits the next chapter you're entering
✓ Where value may be quietly eroding
✓ The next decision most likely to increase your freedom and options
✓ What needs to change next
In about 8 minutes, identify where value is quietly eroding, what this chapter requires from you as a leader, and the next decision most likely to increase your options and freedom.
Why this Scorecard Exists
After more than 30 years leading, scaling and transforming businesses, I noticed the same pattern repeatedly.
Businesses rarely lose value overnight. They lose it gradually.
- A delayed decision.
- A leadership approach that no longer fits.
- A founder who becomes the bottleneck.
- A business that grows but creates fewer options.
The challenge is that businesses are entering new chapters faster than ever before.
Research from the Reinvention Academy suggests that more than half of leaders now believe organisations need to reinvent every three years or less to survive and thrive.
The implication isn't that every business needs reinvention. The implication is that every business enters new chapters more frequently than ever before.
- Some chapters require optimisation.
- Some require delegation.
- Some require scale.
- Some require succession.
- Some require reinvention.
The challenge is determining what this chapter requires from the leader.
I created this scorecard to help business owners, founders and CEOs catch those moments before they become expensive.
Because every chapter creates decisions. Some create value. Some erode it.
And over time, those decisions determine the freedom available to the people who built the business.
The value in your business is freedom.
The question is whether this chapter is creating it or quietly eroding it.
